This blog was created so that I had a place to rant about books and meet other bookish people.
These reviews are in not supposed to be critical or professional; they are usually more casual and expressive, and will often contain favourite quotes, jokes, and GIFs.
And perhaps a few sarcastic remarks, or rhetorical questions.
You’ll find book reviews here (obviously), but you’ll also find both bookish and sometimes non-bookish related posts. You will frequently find me fangirl-ing, or writing in caps lock when I’m overly excited. I like to put things in bold, even if I don’t really think it’s applicable. Italics is fun too.
So, who’s the girl behind the blog?
Book addict · Red wine guzzler · Gourmand · Troublemaker ·
Winter lover · Assassin wannabe · Cat whisperer · Geminian
My name is Anissa, and I have too much to say about the many books that I read. I’m of mixed Belgian and Thai heritage, so I can speak English, French, and Thai. I’m 23 (going on 12) and I live in London. I have a bachelors degree in business, and a masters degree in being a sofa slug. I have the most amazing boyfriend in the world. I sleep far less than I should, but I wish I didn’t have to sleep at all. I’m a fan of the Oxford comma. I contradict myself on a daily basis. My favourite colour is red, and I can’t sing to save my life. I love dinosaurs and The Lion King. My laugh is
sometimes normally a little heinous – I can’t help it. And of course, I’m a food fiend.
I’m still pretty new to the book blogging world; I started my first book review blog in 2014 but was only really active for about 6 months. I decided to close it and start fresh. At first I called this blog Anissa Reads, but in January 2016 I changed it to She Reads Too Much. This is the first blog I’ve created without an alias, so HELLO. I love browsing book review blogs, leaving random comments (don’t be alarmed, I come in peace and have cookies), and talking nonsensically about books to people. Even when they don’t want to hear it (my poor sisters).
My favourite genres are fantasy and paranormal, although I do enjoy the odd dystopian or contemporary novel. My favourite reading groups are Young Adult and New Adult, but I also read Adult and the occasional Erotica novel.
If you’d like connect with me (don’t be shy, I’m always happy to meet new bookish people!), I’m mostly on Goodreads and Twitter, but you can also add me on Facebook. You can find buttons to link back to my special place here.
The design was made by me using Adobe PS and resources from CreativeMarket – I hope you like it! 🙂
